Learning Objectives

Acquisition of theoretical knowledge of general psychopathology. Description of syndromes and subdivision there of according to the psychic functions higher and the main signs and symptoms evaluated for each mental disorder. Description of epidemiological aspects related to psychiatric comorbidity in the course of other diseases. Description of the major pathogenetic models of psychosomatic illnesses, in particular giving space to stress reactions and its related biological and psychological. Acquisition of the general principles of supportive care drug and psychotherapeutic type.

Detailed Course Content

Psychopathology and clinical methodology. Cognitive disorders. Psychopathological aspects of epilepsy. Abuse and substance addiction. Anxiety disorders. Dissociative disorders. Somatoform and psychosomatic disorders. Mood disorders. Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. Sexual and gender identity disorders. Eating disorders. Disorders of impulse control. Personality disorders. Signs of psychiatric pharmacotherapy. Psychoterapies. Psychiatric Emergency and suicide.
