Learning Objectives

The course aims to recover the meaning and the function of educational institutions, both public and private, during the Middle Ages


Course Structure

Formal lectures. Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.

Learning assessment may also be carried out on line, should the conditions require it.


Detailed Course Content

This course identifies the specific models and tools for the cultural transmission during the V-XV centuries; it marks the span of intervention of the public powers in the educational process; it investigates the political-social formative function of culture already in the Middle Ages.
