Expected Learning Outcomes

The workshop aims to provide practical and operational tools for the study of developmental processes in the early years. Specifically, the methodology of scientific observation and its applications to the study of the early years will be explored, with particular reference to parent-child interactions and the design of play activities in early childhood. By the end of the lab, the student should be able to design an observation protocol and master the main operational tools for collecting data on child behavior in early childhood and designing play activities appropriate for this age group.

Course Structure

The workshop will be conducted in presence, through a methodology of working in groups to allow practical and experiential learning of the topics covered during the lectures. There will be moments of presentation of the material created in the group work, which will be the subject of a formative evaluation.

Required Prerequisites

Adequate knowledge of the fundamentals of developmental psychology is required.

Attendance is mandatory.
