Expected Learning Outcomes

Through laboratory activities, students will be required to:

  • Develop autonomy in applying educational methodologies and strategies by designing and planning activities related to the contexts and institutions in which they will operate;

  • Demonstrate the ability to transfer their knowledge and competences to different types of services and contexts;

  • Engage in group discussions to compare the limits and potential of their own elaborations;

  • Exercise forms of professional reflexivity that can be applied to their own and others’ work in early childhood educational contexts, in order to cultivate a culturally advanced, critical, flexible, and dynamic vision of the professional profile and, consequently, of the role of practitioners in early childhood educational services.

Course Structure

Conceive and design the organization of space and time of early childhood education from the perspective of active teaching. 

Required Prerequisites

In order to access essential knowledge for understanding the dimensions and variables implicit in educational processes, and to have adequate theoretical and methodological references, it is essential to study the content of the General and Childhood Pedagogy course.

Attendance of Lessons

Attendance is mandatory. Access to the exam session will not be allowed unless the laboratory has been completed with a satisfactory evaluation.

Detailed Course Content

The laboratory activities, introduced by a brief description of the possible materials, sources, and documentation websites related to the main contents of the course, will be carried out both individually and in groups, and will eventually be presented and discussed in plenary sessions.

In addition to the indicated reference texts, selected materials will be provided by the instructor, including resources in English.
