Expected Learning Outcomes

The laboratory aims to offer students the opportunity to experiment with the survey methods presented during the lectures, through which they will be able to read, analyze and interpret various types of archival sources (written, iconographic, multimedia , etc.).

Analysis and interpretation of texts, archive materials, iconographic and audiovisual sources.

Attendance of the theoretical lessons of the Social History of Education course is recommended

Critical knowledge of the correspondence between political mandate, pedagogical theories, school legislation and educational practices.

Creation and discussion of a short paper, articulated on the
analysis and interpretation of the documentary sources presented during the
workshop.

Examples of frequently asked questions and / or exercises

- Starting from a historical source (written document, iconographic source, etc.), outline:
1) the subjects of the training; 
2) the objectives of the educational model 
3) the training mechanisms / processes (education, socialization, education) of the investigated educational model;
- For each source specify:
1) the typology (written, iconographic; audio-visual, etc.); 
2) whether or not it has communicative intentionality; 
3) if it is contemporary or subsequent to the period under investigation; 
4) the historical reference coordinates and the current educational model.
