METODOLOGIA DELLA RICERCA EDUCATIVA CON LABORATORIO DI METODI E TECNICHE DI RICERCA NEI CONTESTI EDUCATIVI E FORMATIVIModule LABORATORIO DI METODI E TECNICHE DELLA RICERCA NEI CONTESTI EDUCATIVI E FORMATIVI
Academic Year 2025/2026 - Teacher: GIUSEPPE CARMELO PILLERAExpected Learning Outcomes
The workshop will focus on the application of the knowledge and methodologies outlined in the course, through an activity conducted in small groups and aimed at the design of empirical research in educational and training contexts.
Course Structure
The workshop will focus on a group work activity for the construction of a hypothetical empirical research design in an educational-training context. Students will be engaged in the production of the design paper, peer review of the papers and a final presentation of the product.
Required Prerequisites
Pedagogical and didactic knowledge on the main educational and training contexts and the attendance of the Module Metodi e tecniche di ricerca educativa e di valutazione di interventi educativi (or at least the reading of the recommended texts) are required. Furthermore, basic skills on MsWord and MsPowerPoint, as well as on online bibliographic research are required.
Attendance of Lessons
Attendance at the laboratory is mandatory.
Detailed Course Content
Students will be guided through the various stages of devising and constructing a research project: defining the topic and constructing the state of the art, formulation of research questions and hypotheses, identification of the research design and the most suitable survey instruments, drafting of a group paper that also includes a description of the procedural aspects, a feasibility evaluation and a selection of bibliographical references. A peer evaluation of the papers will be an integral part of the workshop.
Textbook Information
Teacher's notes and further study materials will be made available in digital format by the teacher.

Learning Assessment
Learning Assessment Procedures
The group project work resulting from the workshop will be presented to the teacher and colleagues by the members of each working group. The assessment of this oral presentation will take into account the following criteria:
- rigour, relevance, significance and exhaustiveness in the presentation of the state of the art;
- focus and precision in the formulation of the research questions/hypotheses;
- coherence of the methodological framework with respect to the research topic/questions;
- appropriateness of survey techniques and tools in relation to the research design and the variables identified;
- ability to link with other topics covered by the programme (e.g. assessment of feasibility, validity, reliability, use of qualitative-quantitative approaches and mixed methods, etc.);
- clarity and communicative effectiveness in the reformulation of knowledge.
