Expected Learning Outcomes

The course aims to provide skills written and oral communicative level B1+. Transversal skills of a methodological on translation.

Required Prerequisites

Access to the course is free, not reserved for those who have already passed the three-year French exam.

Detailed Course Content

The general course includes activities on communication functions, analysis of authentic or didactic documents and linguistic reflection on morpho-syntactic structures relating to the reference level. The in-depth course includes activities on the use of the dictionary and elements of translation.

Learning Assessment

Learning Assessment Procedures

The exam includes a written test and an oral test. The two tests take place on the same day, except in the case in which, exceptionally, there is an excessive number of booked. The positive outcome of the written test determines access to the oral exam. The written test includes: a written comprehension with vocabulary and reformulation activities; grammar exercises for transformation and completion. The oral exam includes the display of the texts presented in class and in lectorate respectively.
Verification of learning can also be carried out electronically, should the conditions require it. The evaluation criteria that are followed for the exam are set out:
- Communication skills
- Knowledge of the topics covered
- Ability to organize and rework knowledge
- Linguistic and phonetic correctness
- Lexical adequacy
The final mark of the entire course will derive from the average of the marks obtained in the three parts (written test, interview with the reader, interview with the teacher in charge of the course).

Written test: provide a definition, synonym or translation of the following term in the text; reformulate the article; make the agreement of the past participle if necessary; translate the sentences e.g. what were they doing?
