Full Professor of CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY [M-PSI/08]

Psychologist and psychotherapist, Full Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Department of Education, University of Catania. She spent study and research periods at The Kennedy Institute, Baltimore, Maryland, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., University College Hospital - National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Department of Neuropsychology - London, Institute of Cognitive Neurosciences - London. Previously associate professor of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at the University of Messina where she directed the Residency Program in Health Psychology, and the II level Master Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology and was scientific director of the University Center for Psychological Research and Intervention. She carries out research in the field of clinical psychology and relational and clinical neuroscience with particular interest in the relationships between mind, brain and intersubjectivity, developing studies on cognitive, behavioral and emotional regulation disorders in pathological aging trajectories, with clinical applications in assessment (sensitive assessment systems for differential clinical diagnosis) through the qualitative and quantitative analysis of psychological and neuropsychological markers and to planning psychological-clinical interventions.

She collaborates with the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology, Loss, Trauma, and Emotion Lab at Columbia University New York, directed by Professor George A Bonanno Ph.D., carrying out research on psychological factors of risk or resilience and on emotional regulation.
