Simona Monteleone obtained a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Catania and a PhD in Economics from the University of Naples “Parthenope”. In 2008, she won a competitive position as Assistant Professor (Researcher) in Economic Policy at the University of Naples “Parthenope”, where she became a researcher in 2011. Since 2022, she has been Associate Professor of Economic Policy (SEC-S/P02). She teaches Elements of Economics, Tourism Economics, and Tourism Economic Policy in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Tourism Sciences at the Department of Educational Sciences, University of Catania. Her research interests include the shadow economy, brain drain, youth unemployment, waste management, and criminality. She is the author of several scientific publications in national and international journals.
