Required Prerequisites

The course in Cognitive and Personality Testing presupposes knowledge of the fundamentals of psychometrics of general and developmental psychology, acquired in the three-year degree.

Detailed Course Content

The course will cover:

Definition, characteristics and history of psychological tests

Reliability and validity and criteria for constructing and calibrating tests

Intelligence level tests, in typical and atypical development

Neuropsychological tests for the assessment of disabilities and Special Educational Needs

Psychometric tests and criterion and "dynamic" tests, with specific references to developmental age

Differences between tests and questionnaires

Traits and dynamics in the assessment of personality in adults and adolescents

Clinical use of psychometric tools for individuals and families

Personality tests: inventories and projectives

Adaptation and "transversal skills" tests

Tests for assessment in the workplace and career guidance

Uses of psychometric tests in psychological practice, computerized and remote testing

Uses of tests in the developmental field: school, legal-forensic, rehabilitation
