Expected Learning Outcomes

The expected learning outcomes are defined according to the European parameters established by the five Dublin descriptors 

knowledge and understanding: The student will demonstrate knowledge and understanding  of the fundamental structures of the contemporary Italian language and the epiistemological and content foundations of the discipline.  

Applied knowledge and understanding. Students will be able to analyze, from a morphological and syntactic perspective, any Italian prose text, even if different from those presented in class. They will be able to design language acquisition and language education programs.. 

Independent judgment. Students will be able to assign a text to a specific sociolinguistic dimension. They will be able to formulate independet judgments on issues related to teaching Italian as a native language.

Communication Skills: Students will be able to conduct discussion on the structure of a text, demonstrating technical competence, terminological mastery, and will be able to correctly use specialized terminology.

Learning Skills: Students will acquire not only the tools necessary to analyze a variety of text and grammatical and syntactic conventions in an academically mature manner, but also the sensitivity required to dtinguish between errors and acceptable variants (historical, stylistic, authorial) within a given sociolinguistic context. Thew will be able to develop critical reasoning on various aspectcs of the discipline, and to convey information, ideas, problems, and solutions in specific contexts of teaching and learning iItalian as a native language.
