Theories and Methods for the Enviromental Education and the Sustainable Development

Lectures and workshop activities.

During the course, the following workshop activities may be carried out to monitor students’ progress towards the learning outcomes and enrich the learning experience:

• Small- and medium-group exercises, followed by whole-class discussions;
• Group work and in-depth exploration of the topics covered;
• Activities focused on designing tourism experiences that promote environmental education and sustainable development;
• Seminars and workshops led by industry professionals.

Knowledge of the fundamentals of project design.

Attendance is not compulsory; however, it is strongly recommended given the distinctive teaching methods and approaches used in the course.

Oral examination (according to the official examination schedule published on the DISFOR website).

The examination will be graded on a 30-point scale. Assessment will take into account knowledge of the course content, depth of understanding of the topics studied, command and appropriate use of subject-specific terminology, clarity of expression, and critical thinking and argumentation skills.

More specifically, the assessment criteria are:

• Breadth of coverage and coherence of discussion;
• Accurate use of terminology relating to course content and methods;
• Ability to critically reflect on and synthesise knowledge;
• Ability to organise knowledge in relation to specific objectives;
• Ability to apply knowledge to project design and practical contexts.
