Detailed Course Content

The Spanish Language course aims to enable students to achieve the basic language skills in order to communicate in Spanish in informal settings. By following the guidelines provided by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, formulated by the Council of Europe, it is proposed that at the end of the course the students have achieved a waystage level (A2): Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need. We will address the grammar contents related to the A1-A2 level of the CEFR always adopting a contrastive perspective: verbs, prepositions, adverbs of time, manner, place, lexicon. We will also examine issues related to didactics and pedagogy of the specific nature of the degree course.
