DYNAMIC PSYCHOLOGY

The course aims to provide the student with the basic theoretical and methodological knowledge of dynamic psychology, with particular reference to the historical origins, the development of psychoanalytic therapy and the epistemological basis of the discipline. The learning of psychodynamic models of the mind and its development in relationships with other significant and pathological functioning. The ability to evaluate and critically compare the various theoretical positions with independent judgments, ideas and problems related to them in clinical activity.

History of Psychoanalysis from its origins to the most recent theorizations. Analysis of the "foundational cases" of Freudian theory and study of pathological functioning. Defense mechanisms and theoretical models of Freud's mind. The major post-Freudian theoretical models will be exhibited. Contents related to the Ego psychology with reference to the most important authors. Insights into the Object relations theory with particular attention to Melanie Klein. Introduction of elements of Self Psychology. Studies on attachment theory. Following the new developments of the psychoanalytic scientific paradigm which considers the connection between intrapsychic processes and intersubjective phenomena to be a priority, the theoretical and methodological Multimotivational Theory will be illustrated. Clinical elements will be introduced in relation to the analysis of current pathological conditions of addiction (GAP) and the psychoanalytic approach to psychosis.
