Learning Objectives

The course aims at achieving the level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference in the four basic linguistic skills: listening, reading, writing, oral production. It also aims at providing students the tools to develop linguistic, communicative and cultural skills in the German language, with particular attention to the vocabulary and contexts related to the tourism and hospitality sector. During the course, group activities will be proposed in order to put into practice the basic skills to operate in the field of tourism. Information concernig German culture will be provided to allow students to interact in a multi and intercultural environment. The course therefore includes, in addition to frontal lessons, exercises which allow the students to be active part in the learning process.

Detailed Course Content

The course is divided into three modules: the first is dedicated to basic language and communication skills, the use of the dictionary and the practice of translation; the second aims at deepening the vocabulary of the tourism sector and putting into practice the acquired skills through exercises and group work; the third focuses on German culture in order to integrate language skills with cultural knowledge and to improve intercultural communication.
