Giambattista BUFALINO

Dr. Giambattista Bufalino is a  researcher in General and Social Pedagogy at the University of Catania's Department of Educational Sciences. He earned his PhD in Educational Research and Development from the University of Lincoln in the UK in 2019 and holds the National Scientific Qualification for second-level university teaching (Associate level) in Italy. Dr. Bufalino has a diverse academic background with research and teaching experiences in several European countries, including Denmark, Malta, the UK, the Slovak Republic, and Estonia. His primary research interests focus on educational leadership, teacher training, intercultural education, and sustainability in education. He has explored theoretical models of educational leadership and the dynamics between schools and universities.

Currently, Dr. Bufalino is engaged as a researcher at the University of Catania and also serves at the Institute for Education in Malta as a Dissertation Supervisor and External Examiner. He actively participates in numerous national and international research projects and groups, contributing to the advancement of educational sciences. In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Bufalino received the Italian Prize for Pedagogy in 2020 for his book "Pedagogia e leadership educative. (Pedagogy and Educational Leadership) " He has also been honored with the Excellence Award for Educational Processes and Projects at the XXII Edition of the Basile Prize for Public Administration Training. Dr. Bufalino is affiliated with several prestigious academic associations, including the Italian Society of Pedagogy (SIPED), the Italian Society of General and Social Pedagogy (SIPEGES), and the British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society (BELMAS). His scholarly work includes numerous publications in international journals and presentations at international conferences. His research covers a wide range of topics, such as intercultural leadership, green education, and the role of educational institutions in societal reform.
